I have occasionally experience this, it's interesting to have a name to go with the experience. You spoke of curing this... I understand this is not a disease, but that said, I would love to be able to visualize. I see this the same as my red-green color deficiency. I realize it's not a disease, but I would love to be able to see 'all' the colors...
This is like needing to be diagnosed with color blindness. You just kind of figure it out.
What is congenital aphantasia? Is this different that regular aphantasia?
So, here's a more practical question. How do you, as an aphantasian (aphantasiac?) use memory tools such as a "memory palace" or other techniques that seem to rely on visual imagination? What modifications to these tools have you found useful? I have always assumed that I just had a bad memory, because I couldn't remember lists, etc... because these tools as described to me, didn't help me. I' curious what others have found that works.
