This is so interesting, Jerry. I have no idea if my total aphantasia is congenital or if it developed as a toddler. But from the age of 2, I had eyeglasses and a patch, followed by multiple surgeries over the years to correct being cross-eyed, which got over-corrected so I now have a lazy eye. I only learned this summer that it isn't typical to only think in words and abstract concepts as I do.
