How vivid is your sensory imagination?

The Plymouth Sensory Imagery Questionnaire (PSIQ) assesses the vividness of your sensory imagination across multiple modalities: vision, sound, smell, taste, touch, bodily sensation, and emotional feeling. Developed in 2013 by a team of psychologists from Plymouth University, the PSIQ provides a deeper understanding of your sensory imagination capabilities, highlighting the multisensory nature of mental imagery beyond just the visual aspect.

Note: This survey is not a diagnostic tool. It is part of a research study exploring whether different varieties of sensory imagery might occur with imagination extremes, aphantasia and hyperphantasia.

PSIQ Instructions:

Please try to form the images described below and rate each mental image on the following scale: 0 (no image at all) to 10 (image as clear and vivid as real life). Select the appropriate rating for each item. Please rate every item.
