Joined about 4 years agoYeah. Also no map in my head. Driving made me nervous for a while- and still does in new areas. My advice? Have a GPS. Always. And try to repeat that if you miss your turn- you can just keep going and it will re-route you. Or you can always stop and figure it out. A few extra minutes will be wasted- but you'll be ok. I really would not ever drive somewhere out side of my small town without a gps.
I literally scrolled just to see if anyone else thought their memory might be effected. My memory is factual. I remember events as facts. So on some things my memory is near perfect becaus its just facts and I assume isnt hampered by visual or auditory memory swaying them. But also I am 1 room away from my child and cant remember his face at all. I know the facts; he is white, has blue eyes, has a little nose, has brown hair. But absolutely no visual memory. I wonder how much worse our memories are just because I have no visual/auditory memory.
Personally YES! it takes me SOOO long to remember a route. Just got back from vacation and we went to the park near our hotel several times and I still could not tell you how to get there. I've been living in the same town for 5 years and still often have to use GPS to get simple places if I havent been going there once a week or so for years.
I cant see any images at all. Like ever. BUT I did great in art classes- I dont ever remember being asked to draw things by memory though- so I think that's the deciding factor in our difference of experience. I saw something in life- and copied it in a new way on another medium.
