I do not have aphantasia.  In fact, I would argue that I have a fairly vivid imagery imagination. In addition, I noticed years ago, that I have a very alive visual sense in that I see the world as electrified dots.  I kiddingly have said that I see photons!  Your article refers to phosphenes, so perhaps that is related?  If I'm reading your article correctly, you've stated that people who require little electrical stimulation visualize the least vividly.  Would you say that I already am already at a highly charged level? And if so, why would I visualize very vividly? I would love to hear what you think.  This has been something I have been wondering about for years! On another note, I am an architect and an artist and have a vivid appreciation of color. Thank you ~ Julie Wood
