I was close to 50 when found out that people could actually visualize a tree or scene on a beach. Wow! So, I know what a tree looks like and can physically look at a tree and know it is a tree, but you mean you can actually close your eyes and see a tree? No & yes said my husband, I can not only close my eye and see an image of a tree, but I can open my eyes and see the tree. and I can see the actual leaves on the tree. I cried for a week; a lot of missing pieces came together when I found out about Aphantasia.
