Joined almost 4 years agoThanks for that. Chalk this up to yet another thing that I thought everyone had but it turns out isn't universal. For me regardless of whether I've been exposed to light whenever I close my eyes there's a permanent lava-lamp type display going on. It can be quite entrancing at times, although if I'm not tired it, combined with my tinnitus, can keep me awake. Sometimes the patterns repeat, sometimes not, but they are always there. It's similar to the blobs you get after looking at bright lights but they are there all the time, even if I've been in darkness the preceding few hours and move in the exact way a lava-lamp contents do. This has been the case as long as I can remember.
I daydream constantly but I liken it to one of those text your own adventure computer games that were popular in the early days of computer gaming. For me though the sensual element you mention is missing completely. I have no recall for any of my senses.
This absolutely describes me other than the dreams being blurry. I can't say for definite but it feels like my dreams are very vivid and something happening in the dream often wakes me up. When this happens I have a split-second flash of an image but its faded well before I reach consciousness so it doesn't fully register so I cant really say it does actually happen. But other than that I have zero ability to recall images or any other sense memories.
