If you have not images, how can you think?

I was 7 years old when I realized I did not have visual imagery and forgot about it. 30 years later, I mentioned it to a student, and she was shocked. "How can you think?" That started an ongoing search. How do I think? It is like talking to someone or giving a lecture. Some people listen rather than talk. And others see pictures. Or so I am told.
Here is a test of auditory imagery. When a song runs through your head, who is doing the singing?

The only relation to any song stuck in my head and the actual song is language - the fact that they both consist of the same words. Yet, it has no volume, tone, or pitch! If you would like to join a relevant discussion that we'll be getting traffic from social media when we share it, I actually just posted it - Do you have a mind's voice?
